A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'DUCKS AND LOTUS 'KRAAK PORCELEIN' DISH, WANLI PERIOD (1573-1619)

The dish is finely decorated in shades of bright cobalt blue with a star-shaped panel enclosing two ducks in a lotus pond, all surrounded by further lappet-shaped panels enclosing alternating precious objects, peaches, and pomegranates separated by brocade designs. The reverse is decorated with roundels enclosing lingzhi sprays.
