A PAIR OF CHINESE BRONZE PEACOCK CANDLE STICKS, 19TH CENTURY

Each candle stick is cast in mirror image of a peacock supporting the drip pan on its head, with its wings folded back and tail detailed with luxurious feathers draping over the side of a European-style column. There are traces of gilt lacquer to both candlesticks.
