A SET OF FIVE BLUE AND WHITE PLATES, KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722) TO 18TH CENTURY

Comprising: one dish decorated with a rising fern bearing lotus flowers, the rim decorated with prunus and peony panels, the reverse marked with an artemisia leaf; a moulded dish decorated with prunus and bamboo growing from rocks, the base with a lingzhi mark in a double circle; an iron-red and gilt decorated blue and white dish depicting two birds perched on bamboo amongst flowers and rocks, the rim decorated with lotus sprays; a dish decorated with various registers of flowers, the base marked with an artemisia leaf within a double circle; and a ‘flower basket’ dish, the base marked with a ding censer in a double circle.
Diam: 27 cm.

The ‘lotus’ dish: there are two hairlines to the rim (the longer, approx. 2.2 cm.). The ‘prunus and bamboo’ dish: appears to be in overall good condition. The ‘birds and flowers’ dish: there are various fine cracks to the dish. The ‘floral’ dish: one of the chips to the rim with an associated hairline (approx. 2.3 cm.) The ‘flower basket’ dish: there are two hairlines to the rim (the longer approx. 5.8 cm. long). All: with small frits and chips.
