AN ENAMELLED CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE DISH, 18TH CENTURY

The dish is originally decorated with an underglaze blue design of a bird in a star-shaped panel surrounded by a trefoil band at the rim, and has now been later enamelled with dragons and phoenix on a yellow ground to the cavetto and iron-red to the rim. The exterior is untouched and decorated with six of the Eight Precious Things, babao, and the base with a lotus mark within a double circle.
