TWO CANTONESE FAMILLE ROSE BASINS, 19TH CENTURY

One is decorated to the interior with a central bird and flower roundel surrounded by shaped narrative panels, interspersed with further bird and flower panels, all reserved on a gilt ground with scattered butterflies and flowers. The reverse with further flower sprays. The other is decorated to the interior with a shaped gilt key-fret panels enclosing narrative scenes, interspersed with beribboned precious objects and scattered flower sprays. The gilt-decorated flattened rim is decorated with cartouches enclosing birds on a ground bats and flower scrolls. The exterior is decorated with further flower sprays.
41.5 by 15.5 cm.

CONDITION
The larger basin:
With heavy wear to the enamels of the interior.
A flake chip to the rim restored (approx. 3.5 cm. wide).
Some fritting to the rim.
