Lot 415 A LARGE CHINESE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASE, 18TH CENTURY

A large and finely decorated Chinese cloisonné enamel vase, of baluster form with a waisted trumpet neck, spreading foot and applied gilt-bronze handles. The turquoise-blue ground is richly ornamented with scrolling lotus and foliate sprays, stylised clouds and bands of formal decoration, centred on large red shou characters symbolising longevity. The shoulder is further embellished with colourful auspicious motifs, while the neck and foot are densely decorated with floral and foliate designs. Mounted on a later carved wooden stand.
