Reference: ART10010637

A finely modelled Famille Rose porcelain pair of roosters, each naturalistically rendered standing upon a pierced, rockwork-form base. The birds are portrayed upright and alert, with elaborately modelled heads, prominent red combs and wattles, yellow beaks and expressive eyes. Their plumage is richly decorated in a vibrant palette of rose pink, turquoise, yellow, green, blue and iron-red enamels, with finely articulated feathering extending across the neck, body and wings. The sweeping tails are composed of layered, individually delineated feathers in alternating colours, while the wings are enhanced with overlapping feather motifs and delicate scale-like detailing. The lower portions are formed as irregular turquoise-green rocky bases, pierced with multiple apertures and ornamented with flowering plants and foliage in coloured enamels. Height: 26 cm.
