A Chinese porcelain covered ginger jar of globular form, finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a continuous landscape scene, depicting a mountainous river landscape with trees, rocks and distant architectural elements, beneath a broad rounded shoulder. The neck is encircled by a geometric border and fitted with a matching domed cover decorated with a miniature landscape and topped by a short cylindrical knop. The base with concentric cobalt-blue bands. Height: 17 cm.
