A Chinese Cizhou-type stoneware ewer of lobed globular form, with a tall flaring neck, curved strap handle, and elongated spout. Covered in a lustrous mottled brown and black glaze with characteristic streaked “tortoiseshell” effect, the glaze thinning at the rim and stopping above the recessed foot to reveal the buff stoneware body. Height: 11 cm.
