Of compressed peanut-shaped form, the box is surmounted by a domed cover molded in high relief with a sinuous dragon emerging amidst scrolling clouds. The matching base is similarly decorated with a continuous band of stylized floral and cloud motifs, all beneath a soft, creamy white glaze. The interior is divided into two compartments by a central partition, suggesting use as a cosmetic, ointment, or incense container. The gently lustrous glaze accentuates the molded decoration, while the unglazed foot reveals the pale ceramic body 9 by 6 by 4 cm.
