Impressive large carved wooden figure depicting a dignitary or scholar seated in a formal pose, holding a ceremonial tablet. Finely carved robes with flowing sleeves and decorative motifs retain traces of original polychrome and gilt decoration.
82 by 48 by 24 cm.
Condition: Age-related wear, losses, and surface cracking consistent with centuries of age.
