An elegant gilded box , crafted in a graceful lobed form resembling a lotus flower. The surface is richly decorated with finely engraved scrolling floral and foliate patterns, characteristic of refined Chinese metalwork of the period.
The box consists of a fitted cover and base, both carefully chased and gilded, giving the piece a luxurious appearance. Objects of this type were traditionally used to hold precious items, cosmetics, incense.
