Buddhist stupa shrine
A rare carved stone stupa shrine from medieval Nepal, dating to the 12th–13th century. Stupas are sacred Buddhist monuments symbolizing the enlightened mind of the Buddha and serving as devotional objects.
This example features a domed form with a tiered base and a finial above. The base and surrounding panels are richly carved with small seated Buddhas and narrative scenes, reflecting the detailed sculptural traditions of Himalayan Buddhist art.
