Finely crafted red lacquer vessel is decorated with deeply carved relief scenes depicting scholars in a landscape setting, surrounded by trees and architectural elements. The richly layered lacquer surface shows the characteristic depth and glossy finish associated with traditional Chinese lacquer work.
