Lot 1079 A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE LOBED TEA TRAY, 19TH-20TH CENTURY

The tray has shallow rounded sides raised on four bracket supports, and is painted in the center in iron red with an Imperial poem praising well-prepared tea that is dated to the cyclical year of dingsi, corresponding to 1797. The inscription is surrounded by scrolling sprays of lotus and other flowers within gilt borders reserved on a pink ground which is repeated on the base around the nianhao. The exterior is similarly decorated. The bottom with a Chinese Jiaqing mark seal mark. Length: 15.4 cm
