Lot 312 AN ISFAHAN SILVER BOTTLE, ATTRIBUTED TO LAHIJI MASTER, LATE 19TH CENTURY

Of flattened pear-shaped form rising from a narrow circular foot, the faceted body is divided by vertical moulded ribs into panels of finely pierced scrolling arabesque foliage. Within the principal panels are circular repoussé medallions depicting lively figural scenes of musicians and courtly figures set within stylised landscapes of trees and foliage. The body tapers to a short neck encircled by engraved ornamental bands and small figural reserves, surmounted by a domed cover with floral engraving and a rounded finial. A chain attaches the stopper to the neck. Weight:1170 gr.
