A painting on textile The upper register of the ruondel shows a topographic view of Mecca with its large mosque in the center surrounded by city houses and hills adjacent to Mecca. In the middle of the large heavenly mosque, the Kaaba stands in the shape of the glorious black cube, the sacred sanctuary in Islam, surrounded by houses with a mountains in the background. The lower register contains the sura of Al-Ḥajj (Arabic: الحج‎, "The Pilgrimage, The Hajj") which is the 22nd chapter (sūrah) of the Qur'an with 78 verses (āyāt) All surrounded by a band of flower and classic foliage scrolls.
