Cast and engraved silver and shaped like a Tuareg cross, with long needle and movable ring which helps secure the fibula to the textile, both fibula connected by a chain.

Fibulae were commonly worn by women as an everyday adornment whilst going about daily work as well as on special occasions. It is essentially a cloak fastener, comprising an ornate metal triangular, round or oval shape with detailed etchings in filigree or enamel, and a pin which serves to fasten two layers of material together. They were usually worn as a pair. These type of Fibulae are worn by Berbers, the indigenous ethnic group of North Africa.
