A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'BIRD AND FLOWER' 'KRAAK PORCELAIN' CHARGER, WANLI PERIOD (1572-1620)

The dish is finely decorated to the centre with a star-shaped panel enclosing three birds perched on a rock below a further bird in flight amongst blossoming peonies, all surrounded by further lappet-shaped panels enclosing alternating precious objects and upright plants separated by brocade designs. The reverse is decorated with roundels enclosing lingzhi fungus.

Diameter 32.2 cm.

CONDITION
Small fritting to the rim, in good condition.
