A large brass box of octagonal shape form with coffered lid, the body and lid all decorated with panels of large thuluth inscriptions in and around a ground of floral arabesques.
The sides and the cover stylized with pierced panels ofcusped rectangular form, decorated in openwork with a band of continous inscriptions of Quran Sarah al-Waqiah v.1-v.27.
All in large thuluth script on a ground of scrolling vines with foliate motifs, palmettes and small flowers.
