CATALOGUE NOTE This Ottoman calligraphers license (ijazeh) gives the name of the student as Muhammad Shukri Efendi and the names of the teachers ‘Ali Shukri (pupil of ‘Umar al-Wasfi) and Mehmed ‘Ilmi Efendi (father of ‘Ali Shukri Efendi).
